wonderful!
hope u get to pollinate it and get loads of seeds!! :)

also remember,if u pollinated it and u expect for seeds,it'll take from 5-7months sometimes to wait for the seeds to ripe in the pods from what i heard ;)

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

it gonna to be easy, search the internet about pollinating sarracenia, there are plenty amount of information about it
sarracenia are quite easy to have flower, but it take 3-5month to produce seeds.

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

sorry about that,my guess is that theres bird that tries to have the grain of pollen inside,so so easien the job,the pluck of those petals.but i dont think the stigma was destroyed.just try to pollinate when the grains are collected :)

winterkid 13th March 2011 09:20 PM

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

cant pollinate them .............T.T
the flower "leaves" just fell off whtn i touched it ............
and the internal has a few yellow "sticks" left
most will be blown by the wind.....:crying:

edwardyeeks 13th March 2011 11:01 PM

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

Still looks like it can pollinate. Must be birds.....I'm betting a small black bird. Possibly a jackdaw? I have a lot of experience with small black birds taking a bite at my sarra....

winterkid 13th March 2011 11:05 PM

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

another thing is the weather ............it has been raining cats n dogs lately............
and today before i touched the petals i noticed a dried up petal .............
and the pitchers are deformed lately.............:crying:

kepikimut 14th March 2011 12:47 AM

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

imho it's too late.
lose most of all the pollen.
and if the petal drops, mean end of pollinate time.

winterkid 14th March 2011 08:49 AM

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

Oh no...........:crying:
It's ok..I will wait for it to flower next time.........
But what do I do now??????cut off the flower stalk?
It is effecting the pitchers growth.......

I usually do not cut the flower stems they will be, even if not pollinated. cut or not, will not affect the growth of pitchers

Re: Sarracenia flower ....^^come see the growth

according me,i split it by hand.if it looks divisible and each have enough roots,i just snap it slowly.

This is a flower which bloom today.
yesterday still buds, although already somewhat expanded.
can already be pollinated, and do it more than 1x pollination to obtain maximum results.
sorry for blurry image.
