Re: Stunted Neps = Bonsai Neps - sharing some pics
Ken, all my Neps are at my balcony in lowland conditions. I don't grow anything that needs extra cooling. So intermediate plants like N. fusca 'Sarawak' will do well for 2/3 of the year and stop growing during the months with really hot nights.
N. albomarginata is considered a intermediate plant because it does well in both lowland and highland conditions. Probably the reason why N. albomarginata is by far the most vigorous plant at my balcony. I have a few forms and all of them pitcher year round. |

Hi Cindy,
Since we're talking abt albo, may I ask you some questions about albo? Do you find different form of albo have different light requirement? Like green, Penang red, rubra, kuching spotted and etc? Thanks. |

Re: Stunted Neps = Bonsai Neps - sharing some pics
cpnut, I have the Kuching spotted, purple/black, rubra, all green and red speckled forms. They all over the place at my balcony,. Some of them in bright shade the whole day while the other are in very bright shade the entire day and direct sunlight in the late afternoon. I haven't noticed any difference in the need for light except that the young plants (~3") do not need a lot of light to pitcher.

I move them around sometimes to make space for other plants but they don't seem to be affected by the change in light intensity. |

Re: Stunted Neps = Bonsai Neps - sharing some pics
Robert,
Haha... Cindy, Thanks for "overwhelming" feedback.... :2thumbup: Anyway, looking at many pics that you took for your albos, the plants and it's pitchers were all in very good condition. From your experience, have you ever notice the red picther variant to get bleach by sunlight like viking? Thanks again for helping. |
