Nepenthes Rajah Cultivation

Hi members!

As some of you know that I made my own little mini terrarium.....And so i was thinking on getting a N rajah for it...Why i choose this one because its a very slow grower and doesn't need much light....And i'm not sure if i can provide the perfect conditions in my littl terrarium....So heres the temp in my terrarium.I cool it down around after 10p.m

Day temp= 25-27C/77-80.6F

Night temp after 10+=13-16C/55.4-60.8F

In ther morning before i take the bottles out
=18C/64F

Humdity i'm not to sure but should be high enough since i can see condensation on my transparent plastic.

So anyone here who has experience with this guys think these conditions are OKAY?

Mine is OK too. So far produced 2 more pitchers. And a little longer. The colour is darker now. You are getting it from Fauzi right?

Hi Ken,

Temps-wise, you're in the clear. Your conditions are far more friendly than mine, so it shouldn't be a problem. Don't worry about it too much, from my experience, N. rajah doesn't quite seem to be as tricky as its supposed to be, at least to grow. It can, however, take quite a while to recover from negative conditions(like shock, etc) and can be a bit more cranky about humidity when it comes to pitcher production.

Don't worry, Ken. Rajahs are easier than you think. I leave mine under the sun and rain and new pitchers pop up.

Hi ifurita

Thanks for the advice.........Agreed with you that it does not live up to be one of the most difficult neps to cultivate as a lot say...For me here humidity shouldn't be much of a problem here...

Hi Aaron

If i get one i don't think they will even be under direct sunlight or even partial since its indoors...Probally just bright light...I guess suitable for it..Yours seem to be recovering from a change of enviroment quite quickly didn't it?

Well, the one problem from rajah that I have heard from other people is that it takes time to acclimatise from a sudden movement or transplant. Other than that, you should be patient, since rajah is a slow grower.

Edward, I think Rajahs are not that slow. In one month maybe 1 leaf and another coming out.

Fauzi said that sometimes rajah takes a long time to acclimatise. You must be lucky that your rajah adapted to your conditions real fast.

Cheers
