« Thread Started on 25 Jul, 2007, 10:43 »This is the pygmy sundew which I brought back from London. It has finally recovered from its long trip in the cargo compartment. The seller claims that it is d.nitidula ssp allantostigma but it looks like there are two different species.

« Reply #2 on 25 Jul, 2007, 18:21 »The one in the bottom right looks like a D. pulchella.

The rest are either nitidula or roseana, or a mixture of the two.

How much sun are these getting? It looks like they could do with more.

« Reply #3 on 25 Jul, 2007, 18:42 »They are getting about 3 hours of sunlight. However, for the last one week there was no sun in my area and it was raining every evening. Would they do well under grow lights? Link to Post - Back to Top http://s4.images.proboards.com/ip.gif Loggedcosmoking

« Reply #4 on 25 Jul, 2007, 19:32 »Pygmy's will want as much sun as possible-if you can give them full sunlight.

It doesnt matter if it rains-there will still be sun there, if there wasnt any you wouldnt be able to see anything as it would be completely dark. http://s4.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif

You can try them under grow lights but I cant advise you on this since I dont grow anything under grow lights.

« Reply #7 on 8 Aug, 2007, 23:19 »Cindy, they are so cute and pretty. Do you grow all your Sundews in this media? It looks like 3 parts sand and 1 part sphagnum peat moss. Do you still gow some in pure perlite? I have some pots with pure perlite (learnt from u) and some in a mix like yours. Both seem to be doing well.

Wonder why my pygmies died last time. At that time I use more peat/s.moss in the media. Is there a specific media for different sundews and perticularly pygmies?
