D. adelae
my D. adelae put at different environment that is what happen to it
explore direct sun after noon time, leaf smaller and red in color http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...1/IMG_0986.jpg same location but just located there around 2 weeks time, start to transform from green to red color http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...1/IMG_0988.jpg bright area without direct sun, leaf bigger and green in color http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...1/IMG_0992.jpg |
Re: D. adelae
Expose it to higher light...It'll be better for the plant..
|
Re: D. adelae
like the red one....look cute!!!!
|
Re: D. adelae
Higher light intensity makes smaller and REDDER leaves. Indirect sunlight makes larger and GREENER leaves. This rule applies to most droseras unless stated otherwise, in my opinion.

Re: D. adelae
Hi kentosaurs, thanks for your advice
Hi allenphoon, do you plant any D. adelae? Hi edwardyeeks, i have the sam opinion with you. Now i try to do some experiment, which envirenment will make it flower. :P |
Re: D. adelae
Sorry....so far i did not have any collection of Drosera.......sad......
|
Re: D. adelae
That is nice drosera. D. adelea is sensitive plant, if you dont have extra, dont try to exposed it to direct sunlight. For D. adelea, most important is, humidity.Just my 1cent.:shy:

Re: D. adelae
I have many many adelaes, most of them are in pots with my neps, which they get direct morning sunlight from the gaping east-facing window. The 2 potted parent plants, however, sit in a south facing window, which gets some morning sun and all of the afternoon sun. I highly recommend if you want to put your lance sundews in direct sunlight, make sure you have a water tray under them. Like casey said, they love there humidity;and sun...but be careful, and try to acclimatize your plants before shoving them into a new environment. just my 2 cent ;)

I'm putting them on morning direct sunlight (until 11am) with water tray under them but 1 of it was died. I change the balance 1 plant to other location as above and try on it. |
Re: D. adelae
adelae is a weird little sundew; it likes its environment to be just right, and when you find it, let it be! xD the other day, i was trimming the mother plants, and i accidentally clipped off the crown/stem...lucky for me it was a long stem, so i just put it in its water tray, waiting for roots to emerge;what sucks though is it was JUST in the process of making a flower stalk =/ it grows very slowly now lol wouldnt be surprised if it shriveled up anytime now

Under a florescent light they red up very nice and seem really happy. I find Adelae very easy to grow. Here's one of mine under the T12 light:
