N gracilis x N mirabilis = ??? Is it N x neglecta or N x sharifah-hapsahii???

N ampullaria x mirabilis? Last week I found one plant that looks like that. Leaf structure and pitcher looks the same but branch spur. Next to river but no sign of amp. Full of gracilis and mirabilis. Will have to go back with camera since I spotted it next to the trunk road and ran down to investigate. Will have to be next month.

That's an upper pitcher of ampullaria Marvin.Cannot be natural hybrid because ampullaria is a lowlander and mira is a highlander.;)

Anyway, Dr. Charles Clarke referred N. gracilis x mirabilis as N. x ghazallyiana in his book. Confuse yet bro...?? *biggrin2**biggrin2*

N ampullaria x mirabilis also known as N. x kuchingensis. This hybrid also wide spread in sounthern Thailand. If you found this hybrid, there's a good chance a population of N. ampullaria is not far, try looking for the upper branch that usually climb high up on to the forest canopy or above the bushes, you can't miss it.

Marvin1997, so far, out of all amps that I've seen in the wild, only two plant actually have the upper pitcher. Most of the upper pitcher are very small (< 1 cm only) and I don't think they are capable to catch anything at all. The one in the picture is about 2 cm, and that is the diggest amp upper I've seen so far.

Robert, will have to look better next time. First find better parking OFF the highway then prepare walking gear also. I went up the slope with my Asadi slippers.
