I agree with Nepnut. But it opens up to other questions which might start becoming out of topic. Because we now start talking about media. Sorry I'm going to start :( 1. LFS Dried Sphagnum moss is in my opinion the best example of a medium that will absorb and hold water, and if you put it on a water tray, worse it will be boggy. 2. Same thing as Peat moss. 3. Cocopeat however is probably in the middle, between very airy and very wet medium. If kept wet, then it will be moist like moist peat moss, but it when it gets dry (from evaporation) it gets less compacted and gets airy. 4. Cocochips and chunks almost always is airy, even if you leave it on top of water tray. My miranda and truncatas are in this type of mix, and even with a water tray, the top medium will be usually dry. 5. Orchid bark is probably the airiest medium I never use this on it's own. I just mentioned medium that I use myself. The info that we discuss in this topic will help update our cultivation guide :0 |
