Glad everyone love the size and colour. The first time when we came across,we watch in awe and pause a moment, don't know what to do with it. Then one member came with this idea-get the measurement.

Ali, i am sure we can get it to grow to this size in home cultivation ( with help of fertilizers) and big pot as it grows ( open ground will be an advantage).

Hi

Are N northiana that difficult to cultivate till i hardly see any mature northiana's around.I heard the are very sensitive to light and soil.Are bicals sensitive to light to and water?????

As far as i know is bicalcarata needs a little shade than any other nepenthes.Same like ampullaria.If your ampullaria grows well at your place and bicalcarata will be no problem growing there too.
They can get very very big in leaf size and height!

Thanks Ali for the info i dont own a ampullaria so im not sure if they will thrive here.I still dont know whats the diffrences between full sun and direct sunlight sooo i guess i grow them in full sun cos i doesn't get the yellow sun rays.

Fertilizers?????You mean u guys actually fertilise your plants 0.o?????Aren't they suppose to get their nutrients from bugs and stuffs???So far i've only used fertilizers once its for all plants but its specially made for orchids so i tried it on my raff and my N unkown probaly sag hybrid their leaves had red spots all over it and the worst was on the N uknown...the leaves didn't come out very...nicely all the leaves were like scratched or something.

As for biggest pitcher im still going for N Rajah and maybe N northiana since nothiana by the looks of the pic its quite wide and tall while truns are just tall.

We shouldn't have any problem growing them in lowland conditions Ken..don't worry!
bicalcarata itself is an ultra-lowland plant.growing from altitude between 0m - 900 m.

Hmmm sounds weird ultra lowland....its sounds like it doesn't like cooler temps at all.Like ultra highland which dont like hotter temps.Anyway forgotten MERDEKA!!!!!!!!

Yes..ultra-lowland plant won't tolerate cooler temperatures.
