Re: Heatwave!

It is normal that my place is experiencing hot weather every JAN - MARCH.

my place recorded 43C, humidity 30-40% these few days at 2-3pm, have to stay home to spray water. Nite time also quite hot, it is 36C, but humidity come back to 70%.

I got to mist them 3 times a day to keep the humidity higher.

So get to 40C + at your place regularly cbkhoon? The heat here is a dry heat, humidity is well below 10%.

Khoas and Strath: That is one seriously hot spell you have there in Melb and Ade. I much prefer the weather in Sydney, there are cool breezes off and on even with the sun baking.
cbkhoon: Over here in my area the garden is simply facing the worst. When you stay out in the garden for more than 10 minutes your face starts to feel like you just shifted your face away from an oven. Almost every plant is suffering from the heat.

it's > 40C for the whole month already. Humidity range from 40-60 % during afternoon, it comes back to 60-80C at nite.

I mist them 2 times in the afternoon to keep them moist these few days because I am at home during the Chinese New Year week. Humidity climb up to 60% after I mist them.

Anyways my humidity here is around 30-40% in the noon and the temps can sometimes reach 40's.....all thanks to global warming...At night its still quite okay here when its raining can reach 23-24C but if not its around 25-27C normally 25 at most times.....

Re: Heatwave!

Another day, another 42 C, Worst thing is not the day temperature but the night temp. Wednesday night temp was 33.9 C, a record for Adelaide. Last night was around 33 C again.
I don't know if I have enough rainwater to get through this heatwave. Fellow ACPS members have run out of rainwater and been forced to the dreaded Adelaide tap water. It mean id don't rain in the next month they start have plants starting die due salt build up.

I wouldn't wish the Adelaide tap water onto anyone let alone plants. Another 45 degree day at the moment. i think the humidity is almost up to 10%. Most of my plants are doing OK with misting but I was out all morning and my Catopsis is looking very sad.
