N veitchii x fusca
 

Hi forum members

I have a veitchii x fusca sold to me that was suppose to produce some nice red peristrome but now the pitchers are still very small comparing with the leaves.Here are some pics im not sure how to post pics but i'll try:1thumbup:sorry for bad lighting :thumbdown:Its a little bigger now growing a new pitcher this pic was a token a few weeks back.Its my 1st picture posting in this forum not used to it yet.

Give your plant more sunlight will help it to produce more colourfull pitchers.
N.hurreliana is another species, not a hybrid.

Hi in wikipedia they said that N veitchii x fusca is a N hurelliana i guess they're are wrong after all.N veitchii x fusca can grow well rite in lowland conditions i saw it in fauzi's website that it can grow well in lowland conditions,but fusca is highland nep rite?Thanks for replying

Fusca is actually an intermediate nep. it can grow well in both highland and lowland conditions.

icicicicici so does this hybrid produce pitchers with peristriome that looks a lot like veitchii when it matures or have a elongated pitcher like fusca

the whole plant looks like a speckled form veitchii.

Thanks for sharing.

Actually the N.hurrelliana was known to scientist years before it was described as a new species. It was thought to be a hybrid of N.veitchii x fusca. It was later confirmed by another scientist through field study at the site where this plants can be found.

The N.veitchii x fusca that you bought is a MT TC plants. I think it was a horticulture hybrid by Ch'ien Lee when he was at MT.

Base on the photo above, you need to change the media and replace it with new sphagnum moss and if you can control watering, water them about 2-3 days once. Like what Bifurcatum suggested, let it receive a bit more sunlight so that it will produce a more bigger and colourful pitchers.

My veitchii x fusca is getting a lot of light from 8-7.30 bout 12 hours of full sun more than enough actually.I just took it in my room to take a picture because it was dark outside.Im using LFS as a media i guess i'll change it soon.

Hi All,

My veitchii isn't doing so well this days the leaves are getting bigger defitnelly but the pitchers are not increasing in size its actually getting smaller,i know its still a small plant but looking at fauzi's one mine is very small the biggest pitchers is about 3-4 Inches??whats happening is the media...to wet?.I water all my neps everyday spray them around 2-3 times a day since the weather is hot the water dries up fast.The newest pitchers just opened yestersday very small its slightly smaller than my thumb 0.0
