Re: my princess
One wuestion here..Just got my Northiana..Couldn't go up the internet so I looked at the "Savage Garden" book and it says they like alkaline and no sphag moss or peat or they be stunted! I used moss and peat!(So I rushed to Ikano to buy vermiculite .The book recommed it but couldn't find any)Since you use it it won't be a problem right....

Re: my princess
I use a mixture of limestone pebbles, broken charcoal, broken bricks/pot shards, fern root and some sphagnum when I first got mine and it was places in a 5-inch pot (leafspan fitted within the pot). Placed in 50% shade and gradually introduced to more sun, now it is vigorously outgrowing the pot.

Re: my princess
A truly spectacular plant indeed! One of my all time favorite lowland species, which hasn't grown well for me, maybe I'll try again next year. - Rich
