N.stenophylla

Saw N.stenophylla on my trip to Bario last month. The place is about 900m and the weather is cold during the night.. a bit like cameron highland. N.stenophylla was growing by the roadside under bushes and small trees.

Found N.reinwardtiana on the same area, but not too many.

Moss also found commonly growing by the roadside.

Man, I love that red N. reinwardtiana! Did you notice anything about the soil conditions they were growing in? Thanks for the pictures! Looks like a worthwhile trip!

Ya, I went by plane... that is the easiest and cheapest way.
If by land will take 1 day, 1st go by 4x4 then boat then 4x4 again.

Bario is at Sarawak, near the Kalimatan border.
Is a remote place where the Kelabit people stay. It's famous for rice and pineapple... yummy :)

Nope, 99% of the pitchers that I saw are stenophylla, may be is on another trail or could be i didnt notice it. but I heard that the trail to Mt Murud has more species such as lowii, hurreliana, muluensis.. probably next time going for tat trail.

N.hurrelliana can only be found at Mt Murud. You missed the Bario's veitchii probably gone unnotice cos they scramble along the ground.
