Help! I'm infected ...
 

... with the nepenthes virus. It all started four years ago with a miranda which didn't wanted to pitcher for my brother among his orchidees. He gave it to me and I put it among my chillies in the greenhouse and it started to pitcher. I was proud like hell :) Well ... now I haven't got any chillies anymore because my greenhouse is full of nepenthes. I live in germany so I've to put them in a room in the basement in the winter . Atm I'm exploring the house to find more places to invade with my plants :wub:

I hope that you won't cure me from my virus but help me with your informative threads to live better with it.

I'm glad to share some pics. Actually I was today in the greenhouse and took some photos in the short moments when some sun was shining.

Here is this miranda. It had 10 cm diameter as I got it.

I'm very happy that you like my setting and the plants. I guess my wife would get afraid if I get more infected ;)
@ caseyhoo: The sarras germinated from seeds I've sown in january. I had a very good germination rate. It's very rewarding to see the babies grow.

many thanks! The spathulata does really well atm. It produced a new basal and two new pitchers. .... and it starts flowering for the first time :1thumbup: ... I saw it today. Is it male or female? Looks female for me. Here are some more fotos of it:

Hi Boris

You have gorgeous plants but your miranda looks a lot diffrent than mine (the leaves)Mine has dark green leaves and the new leaves are brown then they turn dark green and mine dont have so much space between each leaf.Im not so sure about the flower because the flower hasn't bloom yet but im guessing its a male.Nice growing

I'm not sure that it is a miranda. I got it from my brother and he got it from an orchid shop. I guess that they aren't looking very closely for neps there. Maybe it's also an x mixta or some other maxima hybrid. Nevertheless the colour of the leaves and the internodes aren't sufficient for identification.

What makes you guess that it is a male flower? Did you spotted any signs at it. Or is it just a plain guess because most are male?

The neps for the cross will be truncata, talangensis and a third one. I've got no idea if I'll have any success and how many seeds will come out. Also I've to share the half of the seeds with the daddies. So .... lets wait and see :)
