Veitchii Hose Mountains

Hey guys

Will be getting one soon and i want to grow it in typical highland conditions but i heard that its more of a intermediate then a highlander....Plus the plant is i guess already adapted to lowland conditions...I've seen cool growing neps growing quite well in hotter climates but having smaller leaves and smaller pitchers and less colour..So thats why i want to move this little guy i will be getting to its coller conditions which if i want to must be my chiplak terrarium which has temps during the day at max 29C and and night when i cool it down it goes around 14-17C mostly on the cooler side sometimes even reaching 13C...All this temps i'm just relying on a rm5 thermometer..I'm on the fence here...Should i grow it in highland conditions or lowland conditions?? Too cold not good too hot not good either..Also i heard they grow slower in pure highland conditions..Anyways if you guys have this plant grown in whatever conditions i wanna take a look post ya pics*biggrin2*

ken, provide veitchii L/L with cool environment, night temp around 25°C and day around 30°C will be fine. The night temp 14°C-17°C you're going to provide was most suitable for the highland intermediate form. Since veitchiis are not real true lowlander or highlander, more intermediate in nature that is, provide a cool shade at home will be fine. No direct sun and also provide a well drain media.

Hi Robert

Why the small letters O.O anyways actually in fact not even really 14-17C at night more on 13-15C after a little looks in around the nights..So i guess its just to cold in there? Well yea i shall provide shade...But even under the shade of a mini palm tree and a bical i don't think the temp will not rise to the low 30's probally 32-33 but i guess it should be fine...And BTW i'm getting a highland intermediate kinda of veitchii...( Thanks for the help :D )

keeping many potted plants together under the palm thus encourage high humidity and cooler environment. keeping one plant alone has no effect.

(The "O" was temp.measurement-degree of warm and cold. It was well understood not inserting the "O" in the forum, but in school you need to be precised, failure to do so cause you marks:spinning:)
