hello all just wanted to know does any one know the odds on the sex of seed i have been looking on the web about it and have seen that something like 70-80% of plants you buy off websites are males but is that bc most seeds are male or is it a 50/50 shot for seed :confused:

For the 70-80% of plants you buy are males, it's because in the wild, there are more males than females, usually about 70-30% of them. Thus, when people collect them and propagate them, most are males. For seeds, I have no idea.

Wild nepenthes propagates by seeds. There are significantly more males than females. I believe you'll get the same ratio growing from seeds.
