Re: Hi from terengganu
Welcome to Petpitcher! Hope you can rescue them from destruction!
Vincent is not from here so it's easier to get a flytrap. Here, we need more experience! You can get some from Cameron Highlands or order through other members of the forum. |

Re: Hi from terengganu
I really wish the mysterious neps that you're rescuing are N. rafflesiana... if it's N. rafflesiana, I will pay you a visit *biggrin2**biggrin2*
|
Re: Hi from terengganu
i think more to n. gracilis or n.mirabilis...these are the common neps when i was in desaru. they were all over the disturbed swampy area.:2thumbup:
|
Re: Hi from terengganu
Or N. ampullaria, it's also abundant there....
So far there's still no recorded sightings of N. rafflesiana in that state. That's why I "wish"ed... *biggrin2* |

Re: Hi from terengganu
That is a really sad story, what kind of Carnivorous Plant did you rescue? Were you able to find more? If you are new with CPs I'd want to help as much as possible in your efforts for growing it.
Regards, Sebastian |

Re: Hi from terengganu
Thanks for the pics Din, it's N. gracilis... It's very easy to grow, just take the natural soil that they grew on and use it. It's always sad to see sight like this, land being cleared away in the name of development :crying:
LJ, Looks like I won't be going there anytime soon... since what Din found was N. gracilis.... |
Re: Hi from terengganu
N.Gracilis u said, so its the CP scientific name..hehe...thanks..*biggrin2*
|
Re: Hi from terengganu
That is a nice plant. Try not to keep the medium wet, only humid, it looks waterlogged in the picture, that is not good. It should be well drained.
|
Re: Hi from terengganu
ohh i see, thanks for the info..
|
Re: Hi from terengganu
good luck in growing them then....
|
Re: Hi from terengganu
Hi, Din. It's nice knowing that you managed to save some CPs from the dying swamp.....thats a real sad scene. Nice nepenthes you managed to save though, might I suggest that you use a pot that can drain? Never let the pot waterlogged but keep it moist, don't put fertiliser and keep the plant away from direct hot sun. Good luck growing it!
