The latest from my Aldrovanda
I was just checking on my Aldrovanda a while back and noticed something I had never seen before:

Keeping an eye on them for the next couple of days, I managed to finally get this shot(pardon my lousy photography skills): https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_H...0/DSC00268.JPG As expected, a day or so after the bloom, almost all the flowers ended up like this: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/_H...A/DSC00273.JPG It was a real surprise for me to see something I was never able to find a picture of: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_H...s/DSC00262.JPG |

Wow...an Aldrovanda, it must be in a good condition for it to willing to bloom for you!!

Re: The latest from my Aldrovanda
The red one looks so unique :P

Re: The latest from my Aldrovanda
Nah, nothing unique about the red one, that one is just one of the red strains that was happy enough to turn red for me. All it needs is enough light :)
I'm just lucky to be able to get the shot, the flowers don't seem to last long. But it looks like this confirms that Aldrovanda can be grown through its normal life cycle in the tropics without any special treatment. |
Re: The latest from my Aldrovanda
It will go to my wish list!!!
