Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve Part 2
Here is the pond. Stagnant, looks yucky...
https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1334 Can you see the U. australis here? It's those strands in the water. https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1335 Here's a closeup. Looks like U aurea doesn't it? https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1316 The black spots are traps which have "caught" some creepers. https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1317 Walking further from the pond, we spent a good half hour looking for D binata but it was no avail. None to be found except I found this: An Echidna https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1314 To end our little outing. Another Utric we found was U dichotoma. Adam and the flowering plant. Without the flower, it would be very difficult to locate it. https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1324 https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1326 Flower https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1323 Flower and seed pods https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1327 Try looking closely at its typical habitat, it would be impossible for me to find the tiny plant growing among sphagnum moss and other grasses. U dichotoma we found here is submerged underwater thanks to the overwhelming rain five days ago. This habitat is lower forming a water path to a creek. I think it should be moist most period of the year other than hot summer (guess) otherwise the sphagnum moss cannot grow here. https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1329 Sphagnum moss growing freely https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1331 https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1330 We ended our trip at Garden World Collector's conner. Here its Bromeliad collection. I love they way they display it. https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1333 https://forum.petpitcher.net/picture....pictureid=1332 End |
Re: Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve Part 2
Very nice U dichotoma flower:wub:. I don't seem to have luck with this species. I've been trying for many times with the seeds (from different sources) but didn't turn out to be a "real" one. :bored: Really don't know why:crying:
The Garden World Collector's Conner is really awesome:wub:, I like the way they attached the plants. Are those tree trunk fake? Hope I could have chance to visit there one day. Thanks BA for sharing the pictures, I did enjoy very much.:1thumbup: |
Re: Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve Part 2
TS,
Apologies for getting back sooner. Been chalking up milage. I suppose they fake as I don't see any tree can have that type of physiology. I admire the manner they use the moss to decorate the place. |
