Nepenthes miranda at a very good price that I bought.....

Here is a miranda that I bought at jusco for RM38. Two plants. Apparently the jusco people do not know anything about basal shoots. It is very healthy looking for something grown in a shopping centre.....:2thumbup:

The whole plant

The best decent looking pitcher. Why? Because it looks innocent:laugh:

OMG look at the size of this leaf for a plant grown in a shopping centre!!:bored:

It appears there are two plants! Or is this an illusion? Maybe a trick? But lo'! Nonono, this is two mirandas in the same pot.

A slug goes into a covert mission, seeking passage through the notorious bounty hunter of the plant universe......well, what I mean is that there is a slug in this pitcher. It is the hump in the picture. And it is not happy.:1thumbup:

Well, any comments?

Cheers

awesome plant u have there..

i think it just arrived in the shopping centre bcos usually, the pitchers would end up being dried in those air conditioned shopping centres.

Hahaha.....it wasn't in the shopping centre. It was outside, away from the cold and dryness of the air conditioner. Still, the area was dry and the leaves were dirty.

Yippee! Cheap plant acquired!! :)

There is a last one at the shopping centre I bought the miranda at. Only one plant, but same price. The jusco shopping centre is in kepong,.

Hahahahaha i guess i got the best deal....I got mine from Hee nursery as a lrage sized plant for RM 30 which already had pitchers around 24cm.....Now has some around 25-27cm....I mean currently its 25cm but the largest was 27cm which dried up a couple of weeks ago....My plant only had one pitcher looking like yours....Other than that all of them has a fat lip.Overall my miranda is smaller than yours.

Well, they had another miranda but it was only single. What stunned me is that there were two plants growing in the same pot. In fact, I am not even sure that one of the plant is a basal shoot, the mother plant looks too short for a basal production.

Anyways, I thought it was RM7 at first. =p

Nice to know your happy with your plants.I always check for extra plants in a pot when im hunting for plants. Its like a bonus with the same price.Hehehe...

Those xmiranda and xventrata can grow notoriously big in cold area like Cameron Highlands.

Hmmmmm how big do you mean by big :P.....I thought miranda prefers lowland conditions more than highland but i know they do well in both.

Lol..........thats why everyone should check whether the plant is worth it or not. Would have been cool if the plant your friend bought was nep clipeata......hahaha

Re: Nepenthes miranda at a very good price that I bought.....

Still a clipeata the rarest nep species in the world which was estimated to only have 15 specimens left in the wild is not worth 400-500Rm isn't it?....
