rafflesiana BE-99, getting bigger very fast. Hope the persitome develops more drastic red striping as it matures.

Well thats it for now, these are the plants that have been doing well for me. Some are doing much better than others. My ventrata and ventricosa suffered an intense spider mite attack, they almost sucked the plants dry. Thay are recovering now, slowly but surely.
A while ago I cut off the main vine off my 'red leopard.' I did this to try my hand at cuttings and also because the vine was getting too long and had no support. It continued to produce upper pitchers on the climbing vine, but no lowers on a nice basal that was going on. This was another reason I cut the main vine off, I wanted the plant to concentrate its energy on the basal and production of lowers. It is now growing fine and fast, but refusing to pitcher. Any ideas? Below is a picture of the plant, it is the large one on the left. To the right is my recovering ventricosa. I can't figure out why it is refusing to pitcher.

Perhaps your 'red leopard' is trying to recuperate. Give it some time, I think it will pitcher soon.

WOW nice pics Pananep,
I noticed your ampullaria got hairs on top of the lid which mine does not have.
The plants are very healthy and beautiful.

Nice plants Pananep, regarding the BE raff clone 99, it's peristome won't have much red striping compared to other clones. This clone was chosen because of it's all lime green peristome with minimal striping.

Ali, I think the hair on top of the lid will be visilble on some species pf young plants, I also noticed the same thing on raffs. How old / what size is the amp, Pananep??

I believe you are correct about N. ampullaria. My plant is quite young and I attribute the "hairyness" to this. I had a mature N. ampullaria before and the pitchers did not have these hairy lids. I'll see what happens as it gets older. Later..
