Pictorial update...
Just posting some updated pictures of my plants... Here they are:
clipeata x eyemae http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2001.jpg truncata 'Pasian' Showing a bit more mature characteristics, not a lot of red coloration on the pitchers though. http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2005.jpg peristome close-up, nectar droplets on bottom of the lid http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2029.jpg ampullaria 'red speckled' http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2039.jpg recently opened pitcher http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2007.jpg ampullaria x ventricosa 'red' http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2015.jpg reinwardtiana 'green', a very fast grower and a prolific pitcherer http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2016.jpg recently opened pitcher http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2017.jpg sanguinea 'green', although i can see it having a lot more red as it matures http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2019.jpg http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2018.jpg 'miranda' http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2035.jpg khasiana, also a fast grower and good pitcherer. http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2013.jpg rafflesiana BE-99, getting bigger very fast. Hope the persitome develops more drastic red striping as it matures. http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2008.jpg http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2010.jpg Well thats it for now, these are the plants that have been doing well for me. Some are doing much better than others. My ventrata and ventricosa suffered an intense spider mite attack, they almost sucked the plants dry. Thay are recovering now, slowly but surely. A while ago I cut off the main vine off my 'red leopard.' I did this to try my hand at cuttings and also because the vine was getting too long and had no support. It continued to produce upper pitchers on the climbing vine, but no lowers on a nice basal that was going on. This was another reason I cut the main vine off, I wanted the plant to concentrate its energy on the basal and production of lowers. It is now growing fine and fast, but refusing to pitcher. Any ideas? Below is a picture of the plant, it is the large one on the left. To the right is my recovering ventricosa. I can't figure out why it is refusing to pitcher. 'red leopard' http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/o...thread2022.jpg Ok then, thanks a lot for looking and reading. hope you enjoyed the pics. Later! |
Re: Pictorial update...
Perhaps your 'red leopard' is trying to recuperate. Give it some time, I think it will pitcher soon.
Awesome neps, Panapep! Whats that lizard doing on your sanguinea? Cheers |
Re: Pictorial update...
WOW nice pics Pananep,
I noticed your ampullaria got hairs on top of the lid which mine does not have. The plants are very healthy and beautiful. Thanx for sharing though;) |
Re: Pictorial update...
Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie here and with Nepenthes. Have posted some photos of my plants in my album but unsure whether I got the names right. Please comment. thanks, hosh |
Re: Pictorial update...
Nice plants Pananep, regarding the BE raff clone 99, it's peristome won't have much red striping compared to other clones. This clone was chosen because of it's all lime green peristome with minimal striping.
Ali, I think the hair on top of the lid will be visilble on some species pf young plants, I also noticed the same thing on raffs. How old / what size is the amp, Pananep?? |
Re: Pictorial update...
cpnut,
I believe you are correct about N. ampullaria. My plant is quite young and I attribute the "hairyness" to this. I had a mature N. ampullaria before and the pitchers did not have these hairy lids. I'll see what happens as it gets older. Later.. |
