Best peristome

2 Attachment(s)
Here's mine! N. xdyeriana

Attachment 4639
Attachment 4640

Show your best ones, guys! I love this peristome because of the colouration that darkens as it ages....My avatar shows a xdyeriana pitcher that only opened a few days old. So you can see the contrast!

Enjoy! :1thumbup:

Looks great :).....

Winterkid, It does grow really big but as for tall/vining i don't think it really does vine much cause of the veitchii in it

Re: Best peristome

Beautiful, sirkristoff! How old is your macrophylla, is it the clone from Andreas Wistuba?

Re: Best peristome

I see cocochips :) Good to know great plants are grown in them since i just started using it

SirKristoff 25th April 2011 11:55 PM

Re: Best peristome

the plant is a few years old AFIK.
and it is the BE clone, not the AW clone.... i dont feel the AW clone is a true macrophylla, but i have not seen their clone T which is supposedly the real deal.

Kent if your talking about my photo, no those are not cocochips, that would be orchid bark...

i did change up my mix a bit though recently from peat/perlite/LFS/sand/osmunda fiber/orchid bark to orchid bark/large chunk perlite/horticultural charcoal/LFS

Re: Best peristome

Looks like it's growing healthily for you. Is this macrophylla the clone with a green peristome or the peristome just hasn't coloured up yet?

SirKristoff 2nd June 2011 12:25 PM

Re: Best peristome

For the most part the peristome stays yellow, but gets a light tinge of red to it...
