Unexpected Finding.
Found this while attending to my Tills. It's a hydnophytum formicarum seedling germinating out from the leaf axil of my Till.
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...a/DSC_1030.jpg My guess is that the birds must have done this where I find they love ripe hydno. fruits. Hmm.....must serch further. See whether have few other seedlings! |
Re: Unexpected Finding.
I still got no luck with Hydnophytum. But Pachycentria grow likes weed in my place.

Hi Andy,
It's just so random finding a plantlet growing on a till leaf! Interesting find indeed!! These things stick themselves on almost any surface...*biggrin2* |

in cultivate also when they have a lot of drupe there may be seedling around *biggrin2* jeff |
Re: Unexpected Finding.
The seeds are very sticky indeed which helps. I have seen on BBC channels the mistletoe tree how the seeds are disperse. Even the droppings is not easily discharge and the mistletoe bird has to "wipe" the droppings onto a branch.
Andy, great find. It look like the replica of the adult plant. |
Re: Unexpected Finding.
Wow! That's a nice 'weed' you got there!

Re: Unexpected Finding.
I think I'll let it be as it is. See how it fare up by itself. Lately there are many 'exotic weeds' sprouting out here and there.
Will try to take some photos to show you guys.*biggrin2* |
