Re: My 2 VFTs.
How do u care for them for such a long time??? Mine keeps dying...Probally dormancy but they go all black...Maybe i'll get myself 1

Re: My 2 VFTs.
Forgot to write. These are new plants I got a week ago. Mine died when my dad kept shifting the plant's locations. My longest survivng VFT is more than 1 and a 1/2 years.

Re: My 2 VFTs.
I hate the green forms...I got two from cameron and poof the HATE the sun and decided to turn sick....I dunno what to do....should I kill them or let them live :(
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
kill it! =S to tell ya the truth, i dont like all green forms of any cp...they r ugly 2 me..lol maybe you all would have better chance with dente. i know that they LOVE sun, and they are a good growing variety in my opinion. dont kill it i guess..maybe let have the morning sun till it starts to cook, then give it haft shade for the rest of the day. or maybe it needs its dormancy? it would be hard to tell over where u all live, cuz u cant rely on seasons to tell ya when to put them in the refrigerator.

Re: My 2 VFTs.
I don't mind green as long as it is another species. I want to collect as many species as possible.

I mean all CPs like drosera, nep, sarra. I don't mind green as long as it is different species or variant.

|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
I've got a plan to let a Darlingtonia survive lo
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
what is the plan? We are going way offtopic.
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
haha sorry .Here's the plan 1. Buy a filter for aquariums.you know those like in finding nemo one...nemo swim in side that kind.. 2. place it in a big container 3. place the pot on another upside down pot 4. fill container with water 5. adjust the water coming out so water pour onto cobra pitcher. They shoulsd stay cool all of the time and the water flow from pot to container and no still water xD
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
I will just grow it outside under shade and dose the roots with ice.
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
I have apare filter so okay lo
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
aaron has the right idea. And after the plant starts to make great big green pitchers in the shade, put it in full sun for only a couple hrs a day. that way, u get the biggest pitchers, then let them color up! same thing u do with cephalotus. you dont need a water filter to constanty pump water onto the roots, just put a BIG handful of ice in the pot, and dont put a tray under it. you then could just grow it out in full sun. hope this helps
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
Thanks. I'll follow that if I ever get a darlingtonia(please dad, buy me one and I will repot any CP you want)
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
especially that darlingtonia xD
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
lol ur dad grows cps?
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
No his dad is a CP executioner...Aaron hope you don't mind.So what about we go to school? What happens to the cobra?
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
My dad 'helps' me with my CPs(and usually kills it in the end). BTW a few hours of sun won't kill the plant.
|
Re: My 2 VFTs.
lol thats pretty funny. couple yrs ago i started 'training' my mom how to take care of my plants. Takes ppl awhile to get a grasp on growing cp's, mainly because they are opposites of plants that ppl normally see growing in a garden or house. Here where i live, not a cp grower in miles.. lol anyways why not try and let your dad read up on nepenthes online, or knock some sense in em..lol jk
