My Nxventrata is growing something. This is the photo.

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ABCD0001-2.jpg

What is it?Is it new leaves?

This is a little out of the topic. While I was checking my plants, I saw a bird in its nest. See if you can spot it. It made its nest in one of my palm trees.

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ABCD0003-2.jpg

Isn't it cute. http://s4.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

It may be a blessing in disguise. The plant may be experiencing root rot that can have the same effect. The plant appears too young to be in such multiplication development. Is the plant producing prolific pitchers? Has the plant recently flowered or may appear to be flowering?

Please check all vital signs.

The plant does indeed appear to be too young to be producing such growth...

No, it did not flowered. Is it too young? The pitchers are quite big and the plant is medium-sized.

From the first picture, it looks like your plant only has a few leaves, giving the appearance that it is quite young.

There are at least 8 leaves and the stem is long. They are not shown in the photo. « Last Edit: Feb 9, 2008, 8:40pm by plantlover »Link to Post - Back to Top http://s4.images.proboards.com/ip.gif LoggedAaron Robert

It was not clear which growing part you described. If it was the 4 green growths ( 1st image )near the base then it would be new off shoots. 2nd image don't show anything, other than green leaves.

I mean the first picture. There are more leaves that are not shown in the picture. I'm telling phissionkorps the plant is bigger that what the picture shows. Its just out of the picture. The second picture is of a bird in its nest. You can't see it. I'll circle it for you. The nest is so low I can grab it if I want to.

The first picture plant. The pitchers are this big

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ABCD0020-1.jpg

Not too small and young.

The second picture.A cute yellow bird in its nest on my palm tree

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ABCD0003-2.jpg

I circled the bird. Here is the picture

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/h...rcledphoto.jpg

Now can you see it?

Oh thanks, the bird, It's a yellow vented bulbul, i should have read from the first post.

Now back to the first image you mentioned " Nxventrata is growing something", you're refering to the 4 growing points near the base of the stem ?

Hello! I am back if anyone remembers me haha. This college term is a lot free-er than the previous ones so I can finally get back into carnivorous plants! =D I just wanted to agree that those are offshoots, I had a few coming out of one of my neps and they became like their own plants really.

You've got to warn your family members not to keep going near the palm as this will scare the yellow vented bulbul away and abandon the nest and the eggs/****es. Then the ****es will die. Whatever it is do not touch the eggs or nest. If they smell your scent on the nest they will also abandon the nest. I did that mistake before. http://s4.images.proboards.com/cry.gif
