My Bulbo. virescen
Have been waiting anxiously for it to bloom and it happened today.
Here's a pic of it. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...t/DSCF4700.jpg However, the flower stink like rotten salted fish!:spinning: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...t/DSCF4699.jpg |
Re: My Bulbo. virescen
Beautiful plant. But given the scent, I'm just as glad that I can only see the photo.

Re: My Bulbo. virescen
Here's some picture update from yesterday's bloom.
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...t/DSCF4718.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...t/DSCF4716.jpg Paphioboy, shy to say that it was mounted to a piece of wood chucked at a forked branch. The first blooming was aborted when the flowers were just to open up. Now is the 2nd time. Bought the plant from Lawrence of NT Orchids.....I'm sure you knew him. |
Re: My Bulbo. virescen

Re: My Bulbo. virescen
very beautiful bloom, i'm jealous!!! i have a pot with 5 bulbs bought at roadside on the way to Cameron Highland. But mine haven't flower yet and i've had it for almost a year now. how big is yours (i mean how many bulbs) before it bloom??

Re: My Bulbo. virescen
Thanks, Andy. I don't know Lawrence personally, but he's in the Penang Orchid club. :)
Harris, I think the important thing about virescens is not the number of bulbs, its how big the bulbs are. they usually get quite long and have leaves more than 30cm long before they flower. BTW, the paph niveum I got from you is in spike now.. :) |
Re: My Bulbo. virescen
Simply georgeous flowers. I definately will not be able to grow this. Wife will kill me when it blooms since we live in a small apartment.
