Nepenthes mira
I am very pleased to introduce my latest nep. It arrived this morning from Tony at Captive Exotics. I will have to wait until later today to pot it up though as it is going to be 40 degreed here today and I don't want to stress it out that much.

Re: Nepenthes mira
Nepenthes mira and rajah are very close related. That's documented in most scientific articles you'll find about N. mira.

Re: Nepenthes mira
Well although N mira does have a little young rajah shaped pitchers but according to wikipedia they are more related to Edwardsiana, macrophylla and villosa

Re: Nepenthes mira
The pitchers reminds me of my rajahs baby pitchers. Only this is longer.

Re: Nepenthes mira
Here is for example one link which tells that N. mira and rajah are closely related: http://www.cascadecarnivores.com/pro...roducts_id=104
Very interesting concerning the phylogenetc relationship of the nep species can be found here http://pitcherplants.proboards34.com...ay&thread=5183 Concerning this link they are related but not so closely. Also I found information concerning the relationship on some german language websites. |
Re: Nepenthes mira
Hi Boris
Thanks for the links...........I didn't read the second link cos its too long :D....Anyways thanks for correcting me Ken |
Re: Nepenthes mira
As far as I know, nep mira is rather new, and was at first confused with nep rajah. I do believe that it is related to rajah, because of the pitcher shape.
