Mini Drosera collection

Hi guys, I thought I'd like to share some of my sundews that I grow indoors under artificial lighting. Reason I grow them indoors is that my front porch does not get enough direct sunlight.

Thanks Vi. I sometimes wish I can grow them out in the garden like yours. :shy:

Hi Casey,
Over the past year I have been downsizing my collection due to nematode attack (some plants could not be saved), so
I currently have a setup which is this:

I elevate the plants closer to the light on upturned plastic containers.

I've taken off the cooling fan as I switch on the air conditioning at night, and the PL lights are on from 7am to 10 pm. During daytime ventilation is provided by the table fan which is on timer from 9 am to 5 pm.

It's just a simple setup, but you should give it a try too. Will think of an upgrade as soon as I allocate more space!! Fortunately they seem to do equally ok though in and out of the aquarium environment.

Casey, the tank is 2feet x 1 feet x 1 feet. I use two 55 watt PL lights. One isn't really enough to make the plants produce more reddish tone.

Yep, really beautiful collection Funkeychips! Those D.palacea ssp palacea are really something else...I've got to try some of those soon! I've started growing mosses in my Drosera trays too. It makes a nice background for them and helps keep the sand from splashing onto the plants (mine are outdoor grown). Keep up the good growing!

Yeah...having an indoor set-up is way better.Your plants won't look like it's beaten up by the rain. But I must say your paradoxa should have more light it will turn blood red!Really nice! But all the other drosera are better than mine.May I know what's the D.tokiaensis??
