http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...1269420794.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...1269420795.jpg You can see that all old trap got such trade mark - Red Line http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...1269420796.jpg |
Re: Red Line VFT?
Oooh, casey that looks nice! Unfortunately I don't know the variety...hehe. But it looks like it had A LOT of sunlight to achieve that level of redness. Btw, it's 'traps' not 'pitchers'. :)

Re: Red Line VFT?
This is my Red Line. But sometime the trap lose the red line.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...esilim/RL2.jpg This is my typical. Sometime it show up the red line. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...esilim/RL1.jpg I would said this trait is not stable. And Red Line is not a registered cultivar. |
Re: Red Line VFT?
Lim, thanx for yours experience sharing and that is really helpful... I will continue keep my eyes on it after i propagate more of them...
again, Lim, thanx |
Re: Red Line VFT?
This trait seems relatively wide spread. I saw a few plants showing this characteristic on sale recently. I might had bought one if not because I have enough VFTs to take care of at the moment...:)

Re: Red Line VFT?
VFTs need cool night to show this red line, they disappear if the day and night temperature difference isn't more than 10 degree C.
Long Red Fingers have that red band too, but it gone in our climate, unless your are staying in Cameron Highlands. |
Re: Red Line VFT?
the weather requirement does achieved that level in my place during such season of madness, when the first half of the day is hit by heat wave and second half of the day are either rainy or windy, night time has the feeling of cameroon highland coolness, but my vft doesn't show such pattern but instead my red dragon is not that red any more...

Re: Red Line VFT?
Now my Low Giant got red line.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2.../Copyoflow.jpg Shark's Teeth got red line too! http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...opyofshark.jpg But Red Line got no red line. Funny! http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2.../Copyofred.jpg |
Re: Red Line VFT?
Same here, my red line is no more red line...

Re: Red Line VFT?
OMG Your VFT is so nice la!!! I dunno why the sun doesn't shine into my balcony like it used to be and the VFT all turned green!!
|
Re: Red Line VFT?
Marvin if u grow plants in balcony the sun doesnt shine directly all the time. Only certain parts of the year. Take a look at this thread. I asked the same question
