Oooh, casey that looks nice! Unfortunately I don't know the variety...hehe. But it looks like it had A LOT of sunlight to achieve that level of redness. Btw, it's 'traps' not 'pitchers'. :)

Re: Red Line VFT?

This is my Red Line. But sometime the trap lose the red line.

This is my typical. Sometime it show up the red line.

I would said this trait is not stable. And Red Line is not a registered cultivar.

This trait seems relatively wide spread. I saw a few plants showing this characteristic on sale recently. I might had bought one if not because I have enough VFTs to take care of at the moment...:)

Re: Red Line VFT?

VFTs need cool night to show this red line, they disappear if the day and night temperature difference isn't more than 10 degree C.
Long Red Fingers have that red band too, but it gone in our climate, unless your are staying in Cameron Highlands.

Re: Red Line VFT?

the weather requirement does achieved that level in my place during such season of madness, when the first half of the day is hit by heat wave and second half of the day are either rainy or windy, night time has the feeling of cameroon highland coolness, but my vft doesn't show such pattern but instead my red dragon is not that red any more...

Marvin if u grow plants in balcony the sun doesnt shine directly all the time. Only certain parts of the year. Take a look at this thread. I asked the same question
