Thanks for the compliments :) . We've had an unusually mild year here in California, and the plants couldn't be happier. I have only recently started fertilizing again, and combined with the changing seasons, the plants are picking up great speed. I wish lowii x truncata were in tissue culture, as it's one of the most vigorous truncata hybrids I've ever grown, among the largest, and the most beautiful. Another thing I've noticed about this unique hybrid is that the pitchers are extremely hard and woody, much like lowii I presume. I'm really debating feeding this guy a mouse, but I may settle for something like a fish instead... Tons of nectar is forming in the lids of the pitchers, and I'm interested to see if the substance is any different from what the lowers formed, which sometimes turned an off white color when enough of it had accumulated. I assume it's crystalized nectar. |
Re: Summer begins
Man the lowii x truncata is just stunning....You just cant get bored of it...What do you guys use to fertilize? (i dun even know how to spell it..) I must try using a certain brand and started using fertilizer..
