Hiya!

Hello, all..

I'm new to this forum. I am an orchid grower, but have been keeping several CPs for quite some time. Recently, I have started to add more CPs to my collection as I find them quite easy to grow (Nepenthes).. I was introduced to this forum by fellow forumer bactrus, when I met him at the Penang Flora Fest today.. Hope to get to know all of you better and gain more experience in growing CPs.. Cheers! BTW, here's my growlist:

1. Nep. Miranda ( x 2)
2. N. x ventrata
3. N. ampullaria green (x 2)
4. N. rafflesiana
5. N. rafflesiana pink (x 2)
6. N. bicalcarata
7. N. albomarginata 'Penang Red' (x 2)
8. N. sanguinea green
9. N. gracilis/reinwardtiana..?
10. Drosera adelae
11. Dionaea muscipula
12. Sarracenia purpurea
13. Sarracenia flava hybrid..?
14. Sarracenia leucophylla hybrid..?

NEW PURCHASES from Flora Fest:
15. Nep. ampullaria speckled
16. N. (burbidgeae x edwardsiana)
17. N. (veitchii x hurrelliana)..?
18. N. gracilis brown

Oops.. I forgot I have a Pinguicula too (unidentified species).. Will post pics tomorrow..

Hi there! Great to have an orchid expert in our midst. We do have non-carnivorous plant forums and there is an orchid board there. Hope you can give us some guidance there.

You've got quite a few species of CPs in your growlist. By the way you can copy your growlist and post in the member's growlist board. There's a board just for that. I know it can be quite confusing with all the boards when you see it the first time. No worries. :)

I bought a N. burbidgeae x edwardsiana from the Flora Fest too. Beautiful pitchers huh. Also got a Heliamphora.

Great to have you on board. Hope we can all learn from each other.

Hi, David and Casey...

Thanks for the welcome.. I have been growing orchids for 8 years now, so I'll be delighted to contribute to the forum.. The (burbidgeae x edwardsiana) is my first highland nep hybrid.. Hope I can keep it alive.. I was tempted by others too (larger veitchii x hurrelliana and a fusca hybrid).. I'm currently looking to expand my collection of neps and evergreen sundews.. Any recommendations..? I'm not so keen on CPs which go through a dormancy period, as I find that quite troublesome..

Welcome, paphioboy.....be careful of the toxic! Once poisoned, never able to get out!

If you want CPs that don't go into dormancy, nepenthes, or the tropical pitcher plant is the best.

Great, the penang floral fest really have attracted lots of people! I am soooo happy!

Welcome again!

Cheers
