|
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
i put he pot in about 1 cm -1.5cm of water......
sunlight is about 4-6 a day.........(fried in malaysian sun) water with tap water left in a bottle with the cap open to allow chlorine to evaporate......... :crying: |
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
You need to grow your VFT under 50% shade. Temperature during the noon time is too hot for vft.

Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
Hi Sam,
do u give it direct sunlight or indirect sunlight?yellow can be lack of sun or if its mix with black, its a sunburn sign. and do u move it here and there? Thanks :) Harris |
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
New leaf?... New leaf is usually white/yellowish under the soil. It turns green after receiving light. I hope you are not referring to that. But yes, a photo will be much helpful.

Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
I think it's better you use the Reverse Osmosis Water. Bath it's first to clean/dilute chlorine from the root. Tap water contain lot of toxic are not healthy even for your body.
My VFT are healthy because I use Reverse Osmosis Water.:shy: ZY |
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
i use tap water for my VFTs now and they seem to do fine so far.many growers in Malaysia use tap water for CPs and seem good so far.
but i always top water my plants with distilled or RO water once or twice a month to flush out any minerals if there is some :) i think as long as the pipe doesnt suffer any rust, the water is good :) Thanks comunnity :) Harris |
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
Harris. I move my plants in the morning at 6am .and move them in at about 2 pm. .
The leaves at the middle are yellow with a little green. . . . . But the new leaves that are starting to grow teeth are abit yellow mix with green. . . . . I just checked the roots . . . . . . . They are fine. I think. . . They are black N abit hard. . . . No signs of roting*biggrin2* Can someone teach me how to attach pictures in a post. . . . What is a url? |
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
URL is the link.for example, the URL to the photo is photobucket.com/1123/vftpic/2434.
thats just an example. first u copy the link to the photo, then when u are about to reply,u click the button with this image https://forum.petpitcher.net/images/e...nsertimage.gif. after u click that,it ask u to paste link to image which is URL,then u paste la :) __________________________________________________ _______________ Sam, i suggest you to put your VFT at one place and dont move it though u move it once at night and once in the morning.your VFTs wont be happy if its been move and it wont develope deep colouration(if it suppose to) and big traps(if it suppose to).thats from my experience :) Good Luck! Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
The yellow patch (I supposed) could be mosquito bite*biggrin2*. Since you mentioned the root was fine, I think the plant should be OK.
Tap water in Malaysia is fine for CPs, I used tap water for many years already. All my VFTs are under full sun, they don't seems to decline but infact enjoyed it. I did hear that temperature in Northern Malaysia is higher compared to southern region, something like 41 to 43 degree C if I'm not mistaken in the extreme hot evening :crying:, that could be too hot for VFTs which shade will be needed. In KL, at least in where I lived, the tempeature seldom go up to 38 degree C. I never place VFTs under shade cloth before, maybe should make a try, who knows they show some surprises:laugh:! From my observation, CPs don't like constant temperature throughout day & night. They eventually decline although they show sign of OK in the initial stage, night time cooling is a must at least to mimic their natural habitat. |
Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
Harris... the problem is that the temp is too hot in the afternoon............and the water tray diesd very fast.............

Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
Your VFT obviously lack of sunlight. Give it more sunlight! Extend the photo period to at least 8 hours. Your VFT looked exhausted too. Don't manual feed it too much, let it catch it's own food. The yellowish colour is normal and the plant overall looked fine.

Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
Yes. Lack of sunlight. Your full sun is not my full sun!

Re: SOS ........... all pls read and help me.............
VFTs does not neccesarily need to be in water trays. I never put mine in water trays now because of MOSQUITOES, they actually do very well being watered daily. Just let your water tray dry each day and fill it up again the next day, too much water slows it's growth and root rot will ensue. If possible, a humid environment is a great addition for the plant's healthy life, I put mine on top of my fountain elevated by pebbles
