sorry david, maybe i should have spared a few seconds to greet you, just that i was called back when i was trying to finish my purchasing. the heliamphora is tough, my first in fact, despite all the comments about it being difficult. so far so good. the species is unimportant, i cant differentiate them anyway! my friend and i are trying to set up a cool terranium with a four foot aquarium in an aircon room and we will experiment with the cephalotus and heliamphora and a few HL nep first. it wont be long before it gets filled up though...

darlingtonia, that is ambitious! HL neps and cephalotus are a struggle for me already...

sarracenia is so easy to grow when i was in UK but here it is otherwise. having said that, i noted most of you successful grow it for years. well, maybe i give it a try one fine day.....

Hmm, still don't get you. You're saying that we are still simple, plain and not good-looking? I think you wanted it to mean "homy/homey" instead of "homely" right. Haa, haa, got you!

"Homely" means simple, plain and not good-looking. "Homy" or "homey" means warm and cozy.

actually, i tried doing this before without success. imagine having to put ice blocks in aquariums every night. then i tried using the electric chillers. and a small aquarium fan. that failed miserably.

so, now we are using the office aircon so that is convenient. will buy a small airpump for humidity and fit the aquarium cover with more lights. it should work to a degree but maybe a min temp of 18 degree which should be good enough.

my bigger project will be to build a green house terranium with glass roof (maybe 50% filtered sunlight, an aircon and a humidifier plus fan, all running on timer. of course, not sure if it will materialise but since i need to renovate my house, it will be a good time to fit one in. after all, most of us will agree that putting ice into aquariums day in day out is no fun, and sleeping with your plants and aircon running at 16 degrees will get you in trouble with your spouses!!

i will find time to post pics once i am getting there. right now, still building up my collection so most of them are leaves, no pitchers!
