These black plastic pots are 5" (12.5 cm)! I was "told" my plants would be from 6cm to 15 cm. tip to tip! Yep, full with coco cubes, but it's all from old coconuts after harvesting. It's supposed to be perfect little cubes but they never stop to sharpen the blades so ofter its very stringy. http://s4.images.proboards.com/angry.gif Sometimes I mix pumice stones, small gravel or other material to keep it from clumping up as it gets older but these will all be transplanted again in a few months time as part of a landscape project - like to think of it as planting an "albomarginata -grove"! The pots are all on a capillary matt which allows the coco to wick up as much moisture as the plants need without flooding the roots. Link to Post - Back to |
