Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

Hi Casey,
Did you send out through pos express, poslaju or normal mail? Still hv not received your mail. I'm fearing the worst right now, hving missing pos express from Nepnuts. Shd've pay slightly more for poslaju.

Harris Azariel 2nd March 2011 11:32 PM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

Thanks
Harris

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

Using tracking number, online shows attempted delivery the next day, and final delivery the day after. I don't know what attempted delivery meant with pos express dropping into mail box, but in reality the mail was nowhere to be found. I called their 1-300 numbers from Mon till Wed during working hour, everytime reached voicemail saying they're closed during public holiday and Sun. I got email response after ~1wk.:veryangry: Allen added he has experience pos express reached his dest in 2 week. So I checked everyday after that, and finally gave up. Rob is kind enough for refund. But I had phobia with pos express since.
Hopefully this round is just a delay that doesn't kill the content.

Some of statement from email exchange:-
"For your information as stated on the envelope, Pos Express envelope only meant for document posting. Pos Malaysia Berhad is not liable for any loss of valuables or item posted. In term of compensation, Pos Malaysia Berhad is only liable to compensate in case of late delivery with a new Pos Express envelope."
I didn't ask for compensation, nor did I mention about what I'm waiting for.

"Pertaining to your complaint below, please advice sender to make an enquiry. All enquiries should be raised by sender within 10 working days from posting date. "
It's already after 10 working days when I got this email:bored:

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

well, since you have two nepenthes cutting, maybe you can try this experiment instead, put the cutting inside the water directly and remember keep the water level constant, and beware of mosquito larvae also, this should make a very interesting experiment
i see if i can post pic by tomorrow or sat

Hey mr casey . . . . . .just asking here if u have any extra s.leucophylla and neps cutting ?? *biggrin2*

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

Lol Casey.....lots of nice CP to give away to newbies! I'm planning to try out ventrata cuttings since I never really succeeded with cuttings. Will give some away next time. Good luck to those who got their plants.

winterkid 7th March 2011 06:57 PM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

I realy want to have a sarracenia leucophylla. . . . :crying:
And I am still a newbie at neps........so I think its easier to start with cuttings....but I dont have cuttings:crying:

edwardyeeks 7th March 2011 07:33 PM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

So far, leucophylla is quite rare in Malaysia. A few members have it, but I haven't gotten seeds or a leucophylla plant before.

Nep cuttings are hard for me........wonder how you guys do it. Do you leave the cutting in a solution of diluted rooting hormone??

winterkid 7th March 2011 09:51 PM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

That makes me even more wanting to own a s.leucophylla. . . T.T

Uncle kc u got extra one to spare?:crying:

kentosaurs 7th March 2011 10:32 PM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

Edward, Its quite easy to make cuttings...What i do is i cut a portion of the plant with myabe 2/3 nodes or something and chuck it into moss and see if it grows thats all....Some does some doesn't..

allenphoon 7th March 2011 10:36 PM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

i think it will be better if you direct put them in water, wait until rooting, then only you transplant, but usually i left them in water for forever.... juz like my N.gracilis

cbkhoon 8th March 2011 12:13 AM

Re: Newbie testing section (FOC)

if you fail in ventrata cutting, then you must not try on other neps... you shud get >90% survival rate on ventrata if you do it correctly.

Anyone in Pg can get ventrata cutting from me...

You can open the cover slowly and expose it to more sunlight slowly as well. Please protect those plant from rain... Else, you may spent hours to find it... ;)

Thx Casey/Ed. Few questions on the rooted cutting, are the roots going to grow along the stem that buried under sphagnum moss? If not, I may hv planted slightly lower than optimum.
