Hi Everyone
My name is Charles Clarke and I have been meaning to join this forum for almost a year! As some of you may know, I am living in KL where I work at Monash University. I had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of you at the flower show in Penang last year. Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to the most recent event there, but I hope to make it back to Penang quite a few times over the next couple of years.
For those members that I haven't met yet, my main interest is in Nepenthes, especially their ecology. I'm getting quite a few research projects up and running at Monash this year and I hope that some of these will involve, or be useful to, some of you. Cheers, Charles |
Re: Hi Everyone
Welcome Charles, hope to see more of your research and hope to see you posts more frequent here.

Re: Hi Everyone
Hi there Dr. Charles! A big welcome to you. It is an honor to have you on the forum and we hope to learn from you. We will eagerly look forward to your findings in your research projects. Thanks in advance for sharing it with us.
For those who do not know, Dr. Charles M. Clarke is a botanist and taxanomist specialising in Nepenthes. He has been studying the ecology of Nepenthes since 1987 and has spent many years in Borneo for this purpose. He has described five species (correct me if I am wrong) of Nepenthes and has published numerous books such as Nepenthes of Sumatra and Peninsular Malaysia, A Guide to the Pitcher Plants of Sabah, A Guide to the Pitcher Plants of Peninsular Malaysia, A Pocket Guide: Pitcher Plants of Sarawak, etc. He has graciously agreed to be one of the judges for the quarterly competition that I will be running on the forum, details of which can be found in the "Events" category under "PetPitcher Plant Competition". |
