Nepenthes need sun to do well. It also needs sunlight for pitcher production although the more important factor is humidity.

You need to place it in a place where it receives sun for at least 3 hours a day, if not dappled sunlight (50% shade) for the whole day.

« Reply #4 on Jul 30, 2007, 10:11am »http://s4.images.proboards.com/buttons/modify.gif http://s4.images.proboards.com/buttons/delete.gif Sorry i can`t see the pic from my office pc.....could be bcoz it`s hosted by a website blocked by my admin...anyways....you can monitor if your nep is doing well or not by seeing the new leaves & pitchers which come out.
For example> when you bought the plant, it was having 5" leaf & 5" pitcher...then after you got it home, the new leaf became bigger 7" & the pitcher became smaller 3". Dats no good. It should either maintain pitcher size & get a slightly bigger leaf and not any other way. You can see the plant stem to see which leaf is new etc.
Bigeer leaves would mean that it is not enough sunlite as the plant increases the size of the leaf to capture as much sunlite as it can. I would say that it is struggling.
To counter that, introduce more light to it. The suggestion from David is a good guide.
Ideal conditions to me for neps would be whole day filtered light ( 50% shade using the black shade netting ) as direct sunlite for limited hours might be too intense for some nep varieties.
Happy growing....
