Yea... Regular VFT. And sometime they may have red dragon. Because they are getting VFT from YG Park.

Im not really sure how much they selling it. If not mistaken, RM25~35 for regular form.

I see lots of questions like this, nurseries really don't sell cultivars, just seed grown plants, that appeal to them. That doesn't mean that they are any less better, though. You can't say its a 'Red Dragon' unless it says so. It may have lots of anthocyanin, but don't abel it as one. Now if it looks IDENTICAL, you should label it as, lets say Dentate lookalike.

Hee nursery didnt grow their VFT from seed of leaf pulling. I know where the nursery stock in their VFT. And I know the source only have 2 type of VFT --> typical and red dragon. That why I dare to tell what type they have.

I went to YG park and they only have all green and typical. Then Hee only have all green when I went there. Getting cultivars is extremely difficult in Malaysia.

If it is labeled as such you may call it as such. If it isn't DO NOT LABEL IT, as you think it is. If you know ehere they get their plants, maybe the supplier, said "these aren't Red Dragon, they are a seed grown plant that looks identical. So caseyhoo, you don't know if it is a 'Red Dragon' or not. End of conversation...

VFTs are not native to Malaysia. Unlike in the USA where this plant is famous, most nursery owners never even seen VFTs before. The ones that have them just call these plants 'meat-eating plants'. Tell them they are called Venus Flytraps and they probably have a puzzled look. So that's why getting cultivars is hard. I've only seen typical and all green ones in malaysia. The special cultivars are from other members which probably bought from overseas.

Agree, majority of nursery in Malaysia has no idea what species they are taking in, they know only the common name but not the exact scientific name, even if given, they will still ignore it, all they look at is the price of the plant, most nursery only take in cheap plants, which leads to a simple hypothesis-those vft taken is most likely typical form as it is the cheapest form of vft locally(considering the fact that typical form, shark tooth and red dragon are the more common forms that can be found around, while most other's are not as common):smile:

more like selective propagation(means they choose the desired plant to propagate in a way that resemble the mother plant, through tissue culture or what so ever method)

this what i understand about cultivar

Cultivar = Types of a plant

for instance,VFTs have a few cultivars and one of it are Akai Ryu,Big mouth,etc etc...

so far they had out of stock, most of the plant that are available in their main store is rose, etc and other decorative flower, nep are not available, only huge plants!!andplants like vft and sarracenia are either too small or too huge for purchase...will update some picture to here soon.....most of the plant are at other secure site of their nursery, and i just went away after know i need to wait for a long time to able to enter their secure site
