Hi Laz,

Nice plants...the xMiranda you are referring to might be xMixta (maxima x northiana)
becausew the colouration of the peristome is too much for a xMiranda.

BTW,i love to see the maxima x stenophylla's lower.I've seen before in EP's website but can't seem to find it now.Is your plant producing basals?

Thanks. I'm quite sure it's a miranda though. Mixta uppers would have more interior colors and some spotting on the outside, plus it would rebel more against my cool climate. I sought out this particular clone of miranda because it looks the most like mixta. There are many other examples of this miranda cl0one floating around.

The maxima x stenophylla is just starting to produce some basals, thank goodness. Should have some nice little growth by the end of the season :) .

Lazarus,

Do you have a secret as to how you get your Neps to grow such huge pitchers? They're just huge and beautiful.

Thanks David. The pitchers on my plants really aren't that huge :P . It's mall average sized stuff, save for the lowii x truncata and when my other truncata hybrids perform. The largest I had was 14" from that one pitcher, while the newest measures only 12" . I'll call it huge once I get a merrilliana x truncata and grow it out :P . But all I do with my plants is water them regularly, plant them in either sphagnum or fine wood chips with coco chips, add a worm casting mixture to the soil, fertilize in the warm months with liquid seaweed ferts and some other growth stimulants, and let the mild weather we've had in CA for the past year do its stuff :P. When the weather doesn't cooperate, nothing I do really matters, so I've been lucky.

More pics-

The newest pitcher is 12", still smaller than the largest one which was 14".
