P. sp. "Tehuacan" is so cute with all the ****es around it. Love the rest too... hmm.... feeling a little tickling in my heart...

... tickling turing into itchiness...

I think i'm starting to be poisoned by Pings. All your fault Cindy.

They can turn pink or maroon in good light but for good light, heat comes hand in hand as well. http://s3.images.proboards.com/rolleyes.gif

They rot very easily in high temperatures.

You are so bad Cindy. http://s3.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif Keep poisoning me with pictures of yoru pings...

Hi Cindy,
Can Pings grow well in pure perlite?
Isnt you just using perlite yo grow pings?

bifurcatum,
I use only perlite and a bit of live sphagnum moss at the roots. I can't grow Pings in any other media other than with pure perlite. With peat/perlite, peat/sand, LFS/perlite, sand/coral chips, etc etc, my Pings died. So now, although it seems unnatural and unorthodox, I stick to this method. With perlite, I even fertilise my Pings! http://s3.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

Cindy,

Hmm, I shall try out your perlite media on some of my pings and see. They seem to be dying on me too. Currently I use the other media you've listed. Perhaps we have to use unnatural media since our growing conditions and environment is unnatural anyway, ie. under artificial lights etc.

Too much laa, too much laa Cindy. Now with wordings and new year wishes some more. http://s3.images.proboards.com/rolleyes.gif You're creative indeed. http://s3.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif

By the way, 2 members told me they tried blood worms on their pings and the leaves turn brown and died. How come yours are ok even after you place so many worms on the leaves? My though is maybe their pings are not use to eating bloodworms whereas you have been feeding your pings with bloodworms for quite a while now. Most probably our pings had indigestion. maybe if they try a few more times it will be ok. What do you think?

Unless the leaves are non-carnivorous when they fed the bloodworms. http://s3.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

I have never rotted any leaf from feeding. But my Pings are not grown under lights until lately because of the lack of light on my windowsill. They have got very good ventilation too.
