What hoya?
Got this from recent plant show. The flower is abt the size of our local 50 cents coin. Very waxy and plastic like. Any idea if what it is?

Re: What hoya?
Andy,
sorry, just saw it. I believe this is Hoya cv Ruthie. |
Re: What hoya?
Yep, I'd agree - sure looks like H. cv Ruthie to me! I think I found one at the plant sale at the exhibition at the Botanical Garden in Penang last Nov. Still waiting for it to flower and hoping its as nice as yours! It looks very vigorous, hopefully you will be able to make lots of cuttings soon!

Re: What hoya?
Shawn,
This plant is a crazy grower. They grow and grow but quite reluctant to bloom... or at least at my place. If you do not have this one, please let me know. |
Re: What hoya?
Than you YC and Shawn for the identification. Actually i chose to buy the specimen display plant. The nursery owner have many smaller plants but nothing compares to this one.*biggrin2*
I don't know how it respond to my place yet. So far it just keeps on blooming nonstop since I bought it. Shawn, you got sharp eyes. Wondering how I could I missed it previously!:spinning: |
Re: What hoya?
Hi Andy,
Well, not sure where it has ended up these days with all the hoyas moving around to new greenhouses, but here's a picture of the blooms sometime after I brought it back last year; there's a bit of color variation (I like yours, with the hint of orange, better! Mine reminds me of H. imperialis with some yellow added) http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...8/IMG_0381.jpg yctan118 - Thanks! I'll do some searching to confirm if I really still have it around here somewhere and get back to you! ~Shawn |
Re: What hoya?
