Veitchii x maxima and x eymae

Just curious which of these crosses which were recently sold by EP, veitchii x maxima and veitchii x eymae would do fair better in lowland conditions...

Pics worth a thousand words.... all pitchers developed here :shy:

Here's mine but mine are the reverse cross, I think growth habit and adaptability to LL tropical weather should be similar.

N. maxima x veitchii HL - pitcher developed here is smaller but still acceptable to me...

Wah all the pictures so nice....Robert are they slow growing especially the veitchii x eymae? Maxima x veitchii different from veitchii x maxima i guess....since the female parent is maxima it will follow it more and be more vigorous..

TQ... I used well drained medias (lots of coco chips, coarse burnt clay chips, perlite, chacoal chips and etc) for most of my intermediates and epiphitic neps.

Thanks Kenneth :shy:

IMHO, anything involving veitchii will be slightly slower growing and more sensitive towards humidity and well drained media.

For maxima x veitchii, if the female maxima is the intermediate form, it might not adapt well to our local weather but that's only in theory. Since most EP's nep are seed grown, it'll be hard to say for certain because no 2 are alike (both pitcher morphology and growth habit) when we talk about seed grown neps.

If there's a will, there's always a way.... *biggrin2*

All the EP nep in Malaysia were imported from Australia and some also might originated from Thailand.

Kenneth,
I just checked the label and the one I got it's actually N. veitchii HL x maxima not the reverse cross :shy:
