Re: Nepenthes veitchii Cultivation Guide
Does anyone put their Veitchii on top of a water tray?
My Pink Veitchii is one of the very few nepenthes in my collection that I do not put in a water tray. From the info that the members posted, as they are tree or rock growing, they might not like their roots being too wet? I am just wondering if anyone is growing them with the medium almost constantly wet? TTFN Arvin |
Re: Nepenthes veitchii Cultivation Guide
Arvin,
I've eard people using tray method for theyir veitchiis but in my exoerience they like damp conditions. Ken, My veitchii hose mountains produces decent sized pitchers. Marigold, Yeah it's a highlander (thought veitchiis are considered intermediates) |
Re: Nepenthes veitchii Cultivation Guide
Mind posting some photos of N.veitchii?I might get my hands on N.veitchii hose mountain but judging from your comments bout the small pitcher i need to think twice.

Yes, pls post some pics of your N. veitchii "Hose Mt", I would love to see it to know what kind of pitcher to leaf ratio you are getting. I also have some problem growing this MT clone, sometimes stop pitchering.... :shy: and also very slow growing as I got mine as size S. I found they prefer drier and well drain media but definately like high humidity. Thanks. |
Re: Nepenthes veitchii Cultivation Guide
Well, guess I just haven't figured out how it likes things yet! My veitchii are tending to yellow out their leaves and generally look miserable...I've been thinking they're too wet in my shade house. Just moved one to a higher hanger as a test.
