François,
With snow even in Paris, it must nice to have a little bit of tropics in the living room. It is like a miniature Berlin Tropical Islands. Ever been there? I believe BTI is developed and operated by a Malaysian billionaire, Anand Krishna. Well in just a few months you will be back at the tropical paradise of Sabah and Sarawak. Choong |

Is that ampullaria red giant you have there (2nd picture)? Nicely grown. It looks like you've had that plant for at least a couple of years.
Your plants are very healthy. |

Re: A piece of tropics in my french living-room...
Great tropical wonderland there, I wish I can have the means to do one in my room too!
But looking at the many interesting terrariums and greenhouses and sheds that you guys have come up with, I believe they show enough proof that the ultimate enemy of pitchering is low humidity. Of course, I'm aware of myself living in a tropical country that humidity is of not much concern but in the concrete jungle, coupled with a few lacking factors, is what I'm experiencing now :(. |
Re: A piece of tropics in my french living-room...
Hello,
Thanks for the praise everyone. It's not always eaasy to grow those tropical plants in our temperate climate but it is very satisfying. I can't wait to see those dear Nepenthes in the wild in a few weeks. @Davis: Yes, it is what you guys call "giant green red", a very vigorous grower. @Robert: Thanks so much for the kind words. François. |

Sockhom,
Your photos are always great. Is it natural sunlight or artificial lighting shinning in? |
