Re: Nepenthes seeds germination
interesting, but superbly expensive...

Re: Nepenthes seeds germination
That isn't so expensive. That are very simple plastic petri dishes. I had the luck that I didn't even had to pay for them. I got them from a good friend who is working in such a company but nevertheless they shouldn't be so expensive. The living sphagnum is from my sarracenia area and didn't cost me anything also.

Re: Nepenthes seeds germination
that petri dishes wasn't expensive, but it is the live sphagnum that is expensive, it's sort of rare here...

Re: Nepenthes seeds germination
sos here, I've got a seed that germinate, saw the green thingy growing very fast, took bout 3 days to reach near to 1 cm since it germinate, but the problem is that, the green thingy sprout from the bottom part of the seed that face downward, now it pushes the seed upward...what should I do...
thanks |
Re: Nepenthes seeds germination

What a coincidence, this morning saw a greenish thingy on my N.fusca seeds tray which i has given up hope on. Turn out got 1 seed germinated but the top growing into the sm. I used a tweezer to remove the sm around the thingy and saw two small leaves buried in the sm. So i just turn it upright and hope that it will be alright. |
Re: Nepenthes seeds germination
weird stuff happens here...seeing some of the "germination" on my pot, most of them looks like seeds of other plant/weedy grass because the green stuff grows till the seeds get pushed up realizing that it actually emerge from a tiny seed that looks like biblis seeds, being lazy, I left it there, till now...I saw an awkward growth on one of the new leaves...a pitcher...
