Drosera capensis 'Crestate'

4 Attachment(s)
Just thought I would share a few pic's of my capensis 'crestate'. It is a variety of capensis that is prone to mutations. Not sure how stable it is. I have seen posts elsewhere stating that some plants will do this only for a few years and others that claim to have had them for many years.

Pictures shown are overall plant - If you look carefully at centre you will see flower stalk wrapping around itself.

Split leaf - into a fork

Split leaf - piggy back

Flattened flower scape - also called fasciation.

Enjoy.

I've heard that it is transferred through seed but I haven't tried it yet. I am planning on collecting seed this year and germinating to see if it does transfer and at what rate.

I had similliar growth on my plants last year and posted photos here, https://forum.petpitcher.net/showthread.php?t=4570. Some of my plants had formed about 4 flowering heads on a single stalk. The seeds and cuttings I harvested had done the same this year. Mine still grows quite well.
