Updates to PetPitcher forum
 

Dear members,

This is to inform you that the Non Carnivorous Plant forums has been re-organised and the following new boards have been added:

- Plant ID Corner
- Events
- Growlist
- Wanted Stuff
- Others

Disscussion on genus and species that do not have a category has been moved to "Others" board.

CP Boards re-shuffled
 

I have just re-shuffled the CP boards and group them according to the way they capture insect, eg. Pitfall traps... Nepenthes, Sarracenia, Cephalotus and Heliamphora are grouped together.

I have also included a new board for Aldrovanda.

Events/Interaction Board
 

The Events/Interaction board has been split into two separate boards ie. "Events" and "Interaction" under the same category, "Member's Corner"

Datestamp Display Option
 

The time format that indicates the time you post each of your post on the forum has been changed based on feedback from members. Previously, the forum shows times such as "1 minute ago", "3 days ago", etc.

It has been changed to actual time, eg. 20th October 2008, 4.30pm.

Members Profile Field Extended
 

Dear members,

I've allocated more space in some of the fields in the "About me" section in your profile area for you to key in your personal details, eg. you can type in 2000 letters in the Biography section instead of 100 previously.

Image Upload Fields Extended
 

Dear members,

You will now be able to upload 10 images/attachements into your post at a time compared to 3 images/attachement earlier. You can also upload a maximum of 20 images on each post as compared to 5 earlier. This also apply to URL Link uploads. There is now 10 colums to upload at a time.

Please note that if your internet line is slow, you may not be able to upload all 10 images at one time. As such cancel the upload and try again with lesser pictures.

I think this is better as it was a little irritating uploading images earlier because we can only upload 3 images at a time and not more than 5 images in one post.

Non CP Boards Revamp
 

Dear members,

The non CP boards have been revamped and reorganised. Hope you guys/gals like it.

Show Users Browsing Boards/Threads
 

The system will now be able to show current members and guests browsing a particular forum on forumdisplay.php, ie. the template at the bottom of the page on every forum. In addition, the system will also show current members and guest browsing a particular thread on showthread.php.

So now you'll be able to know if your CP buddies are on the same board/thread as you so you won't feel so lonely... :laugh:

Member Profile Page
 

Dear Members,

I've included some additional fields for information to be included about yourself in the Profile Page. These fields can only be seen by members.

Rankings
 

FYI - The number of posts to achieve Senior Member is now 500 posts instead of 350 posts earlier.

Member's Ranking Change
 

Dear members,

With immediate effect, all Senior/Veteran/Legendary member positions will be elected postions based on the majority consensus by the Administrative staff of PetPicther. The title "Newbie" has also been changed to "New Members".

The titles based on post count has been limited to 3 levels now. They indicate the membership status of members on PetPitcher:
- New Member 0-49 posts
- Junior Member 50-99 posts
- Full Member 100 posts

For full details, please read this thread. The Adminstrative staff will be electing Senior/Veteran/Legendary member positions in the next 1 week as all members are now New/Junior/Full Member. This election process will also be continueous and ongoing process. Positions elected by the Administrator will remain.

Re: PetPitcher Forum System Upgraded
 

Dear members,

PetPitcher forum software has been upgraded with many new features and improvements to the existing funtionatlity of the forum options and features. Here are the highlights:

- Social group discussions
- Social group categories
- Private mesage sorting and filtering
- Private message history
- Quick edit for newer types of content (visitor/picture messages/comments)
- Social group icons
- Social group transfers
- Private message quick reply
- Private message reporting
- Profile privacy (limit blocks to a subset of users)
- Ligthbox navigation

As this is a major upgrade, there is a slim chance that there might be glitches in the system incase the upgrades was not installed properly. PM me if you face problems navigating through or using the forum. Thanks.

Re: Member's Photo Album
 

Dear members,

The number of photos that you can upload on your personal photo album has been increased.

All registered members are allowed to upload a maximum of 200 pictures. Advisors and Senior members are allowed to upload a maximum of 250 pictures. Pioneers, Moderators and Executive members are allowed to upload a maximum of 500 pictures.

Dear members,

The Market Place category has been removed and the trading boards within that category has been moved under the Member's Corner. Please note the change of the Trading Terms and Conditions on PetPitcher. The new Trading Terms and Conditions can be found in the Notice Board here.

It is important to note that the trading boards in the Member's Corner are for member's personal sales, exchange or giveaways of extra plants/cuttings, seeds and second hand plant related accessories or products. As a new guideline among others, pricing together with payment and collection details MUST be done via PM (Private Message) an not on the trading boards.

With immediate effect, suppliers are not allowed to sell on the trading boards. They will have to be a sponsor before they they are allowed to sell on the Sponsor's Forum. Contact me for more information about the Sponsor's Forum.

Please note that the trading boards in the Non-CP section has been merged with the trading boards in the Member's Corner. All non CP sales, exchange, giveaway and group purchase shall be done in the Member's Corner from now on together with CP trades.

Re: Trading Terms and Conditions
 

The Trading Terms and Conditions has been updated. Please note two additional terms and conditions for the trading boards. They are:

11. If there are updates or changes on the items offered, you are advised to update your thread in the trading boards. Once items have been sold or taken up, the member offering the items need to notify members in his thread that the thread is close.

12. All threads in the member's trading boards will be deleted after one month. This is to save space on the forum. If you wish to have your sale items listed on the forum on a continuous basis, you will need to become a sponsor and have a Sponsor's forum.

Re: Plant ID, CPs in the Wild and Trading Board
 

Please note that the respective species Plant ID boards and CPs in the Wild boards in the GENERAL CARNIVOROUS PLANT DISCUSSION category has been moved under the discussion boards for each species as a subboard.

The "Stuff to Sell" and "Stuff to Exchange/Giveaway" have been merged and called "Trading Board".

Re: Seed Bank Updates
 

Important! Please take note!

Please note that as of today, all seed requests for the Seed Bank must be attention to a new forum ID called "Seed Bank Manager". I've created this new ID so that members who are not so familiar with the forum will know exactly where to attention their seed request. This has been updated in the Seed Bank Manager page and it can be seen on the "Member List".

This will also help me to organise my PMs so that Seed Bank related PMs does not mixed up with my personal PMs as an Administrator.

Please note that the yearly seed request quota for members have been increased to 20 packets. Donors will now receive up to 15 packets of free seeds a year when they donate seeds to the Seed Bank.

Re: Trading Board
 

Please take note of the changes:

The "Wanted Stuff" board under the Member's Corner has been placed under the Trading Board and will be governed by the Trading Terms and Conditions.
