Re: Truncata problem
Hi Ali
Well i don't really know much about that since it has never ever happened to my N truncata or any of my other neps....All i know its a pitcher deformality???Or maybe its a mutant hehehehe from TC..If its a Highland form maybe its because of the lowland conditions. Ken |
Re: Truncata problem
I have seen this before in some of my neps.Probably due to:
1.Recent repot. 2.Defect. 3.Injury when growing. 4.Heat stress.The lid shrink. |
Re: Truncata problem
I think it's because of recent repot. Will it be alright or i have to do anything special?
|
Re: Truncata problem
It'll be alright just give it time to recover from the repotting stress. But it could take some time.

Re: Truncata problem
Don't worry, thats not a very serious problem. but give it some time. It wil recover. Nice truncata though......

Re: Truncata problem
I've had something similar happen to my truncata before. I think it has something to do with watering. When I let the soil dry out a little bit to much while the pitcher is forming this sort of thing ends up happening. The pitchers seem to turn out fine though after they open completely, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Re: Truncata problem
Hi
A little of topic here but i realised also that my N truncata opens its lids very fast when its quite a small size.Normally when pitchers open it means it shouldn't grow much in size anymore. But my N truncata continues to grow in size even after being already opened. Ken |
Re: Truncata problem
Hi Ken,
this is actually quite common among a few neps... I have observed the same thing on hookeriana, ampullaria and a few others, once the lid opened, the picther will continue to grow and form until it reach it's fully formed stage. |
