really nice shape and colours

Re: Anyone seen this??
It's definitely got a lot of Viking in it! I have so many hybrid crosses with Viking in them (i.e, viking x coccinea, v. x amp, v. x mirabilis, v. x raff, etc.) and every batch has huge variation in it. For every 100 plants there seem to be 3-4 major groups of individuals that look similar and completely different from the other groups. The Tiger x Viking I am growing show much more 'tiger' influence and almost no viking. This seems the opposite, perhaps a Viking mother? That's the fun of growing from seed! Your's has a spectacularly good shape (This is the most desired shape for the Thai collectors), huge flaring wings, deep color, a contrasting peristome...it could be pure Viking or could be any one of half a dozen crosses, but it's just great whatever it is! The pitcher development looks makes me think that this is on a fairly mature plant? How big is it?
Congratulations on a great new plant cpnut! |

viking x raff?

Re: Anyone seen this??
Yep Hongrui, if there's anything other than viking in there, my guess would be raff as well.

Re: Anyone seen this??
It could be a viking x xkuchingensis but for sure all of us agreed that part of the lineage is from viking. I got a viking x raff also but you can definately tell the raff in it once you see the pitcher...
viking x rafflesiana http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1...affcurrent.jpg Shawn, Regarding your question about the age of this plant, I won't say it's mature yet but maybe close to it. Have to take the leaves span measurement later... |
Re: Anyone seen this??
It's viking x amp
Sorry on the lateness -Sean |
Re: Anyone seen this??
Well, I just had another thought on a possibility. Although there's no sign of teeth, I've seen a few Viking x bicalcarata that have a similar look (also without teeth)! I think it is the lime-green peristome that makes me think of Bical.

That pitcher is N. viking x kuchingensis. I am quite confident. Cheers, Pop |
