Got these two neps from cameron highland but the seller don't know their name, only telling me it's angkau tekor. Hope can help me with their id. Thks.

First 2 is a x miranda and 3-4 is a x dyeriana they are both hyrbids

Yep. First and second is a N. x Miranda. Third and fourth is N. x Dyeriana

Hahaha..it's a hokkien lang(chinese hokkien). So am i.
Actually i asked him about those neps species/hybrid but he don't know and tell me it's monkey cup. Thinking that i don't understand he say 'angkau tekor' in hokkien. It is the direct translation to hokkien i suppose.

This is also the first time i hear people calling it angkau tekor, normally they called them 'chi lung' or 'choo loong'.

Well. I guess is Lau (老) Kao (猴) Teh (茶) Koh (壶)in Hokkien, which means Monkey Teapot!

Certain places call lau kau, others call angkau. Hokkien also many variety just like neps hehe..:tongue:

Guess diferent cultures, different names. Some might sound funny but they all refer to one thing, Angkau Tekor....ooop!!! i means Nepenthes hehe..

No! VFT is 捕蠅草 (Bu Ying Cao). 豬籠草 (Zhu Long Chao) only refer to Nepenthes. For those who is not familiar with carnivorous plants always thought that every CPs is 豬籠草 (Zhu Long Chao)! But this is not true.

Hi kit1212,
I love them too, but too bad they are not mine. Saw them in one of the nursery in Cameron but the price quoted too steep for me. So i reckon the next best thing to do is to snap a picture as rememberance. It's an N.Veitchii but not sure which variant.
