D. pygmaea - I purchase 50 seed from US but only get 7 plants:crying:
But I still happy on it because it was better that D. occidentalis subsp occidentalis. I only get 1 only frm 50 seed for D. occidentalis subsp occidentalis.

Hi there, those 2 are nice plants. May I know you got gemmae or seeds from oversea? For pgymy, it is better buy gemmae, because success rate is almost 100% (it is depends on seller as well)

I purchase the seed from oversea.
I do try on gemmae but can not get the permit :crying:

So far, Im didnt facing any issue when getting gemmae. (without permit)

Every letter from US was open, this is why I did not try for gemmae.

huh... So far, didnt face such problem yet...

Hey

Theyre nice seedlings you have there, dont give up on germinating the other seeds though.

I buy some seeds from America, they take longer to germinate as the take 2 weeks to obtain. Them 2 weeks are 2 weeks later than they would be planted in the wild!

Dear Hayden,

Look like the time taken by you is about 6 weeks. But I wait for 2 months for the seed germinat. The photo I put on above was after 3 months sowing :crying:....

I hope mine D. omissa will give me some seed after flowerage but D. occidentalis still not very well growing.

50 seeds for D. occidentalis only get 2 plants:crying: but I will try again. How about you?

I don't remenber how many seeds I planted, I think there were about 20 seeds of each, the only D. omissa born, disapeared of the vase :confused:

Pygmies are great; i just sowed occidentalis x australis seeds, i'll post the results as soon as i can see them!

I think its eazy, you can use a forceps to collect the gemmae and put it on subtrate, and its grow like magic *biggrin2*

I'm not sure about the collect the gemmae, but to plant them is just that.

are pygmies always remain that small?can they get into 1.5inch diameter?

The bigger I can grow it was about 2cm only.
